Brackley Town have named Andy Whing as their new manager, replacing Gavin Cowan who left for Shrewsbury Town. The Saints, currently 15th in the National League, face Carlisle United on the last day of the season. Whing, former Barrow AFC boss, takes charge ahead of Saturday's home clash with Southend United. Brackley's chairman, Matt Wise, stated that Whing has the experience and attributes to establish the team in the National League. Whing has previously managed Solihull Moors and Banbury United. He expressed his delight at joining the club, saying he's passionate and ambitious. Whing has been keeping tabs on the National League since leaving Barrow and did some radio punditry work at Solihull's 3-3 draw with Carlisle last month. Brackley visit Brunton Park on the season's final weekend on Saturday, April 25. The Blues won 1-0 on their visit to the Northamptonshire club last September. Whing's appointment comes after a thorough recruitment process, and he will take training this week in preparation for Saturday's game. The new manager is looking forward to meeting everybody on Saturday and hopes for a winning start. Brackley are enjoying their debut season in the National League after winning National League North under Cowan in 2024/25. The club is looking to finish the season strongly with Whing at the helm. Whing's experience and knowledge of the National League will be crucial in the remaining games. The fans are excited to see how the team will perform under the new manager.
