Brackley Town has undergone a remarkable transformation since a fire tore through their clubhouse six years ago. Today, the club is celebrating its success, thanks in part to the Premier League Stadium Fund, which has provided half a million pounds in grants since 2002. The funding has enabled significant improvements to the club's ground and facilities, including a new clubhouse, pitch drainage and irrigation system, and upgraded floodlights. Brackley manager Gavin Cowan said the improvements have contributed to better playing conditions and helped the players perform at their best. The club's recovery has been supported by the community, with the new clubhouse serving as an important income stream. Brackley CEO Janene Butters added that the club is deeply rooted in the community and proud of its outreach work. The club's ascendancy through non-league football has been notable, with a self-proclaimed pinnacle in their 135-year history. Francis Oliver, former chairman of Brackley, attended the club's outing against Everton Under-21s in the National League Cup and said it felt like the pinnacle of his time at the club. The Premier League Stadium Fund has invested over £215million in the last 25 years to improve facilities at all levels of the game, with Brackley's ground, St James Park, being one of over 1,600 venues to benefit. The funding has helped the club develop both on and off the field, with Brackley representing the highest level of football in the area. The club's success has put Brackley on the map, with people remembering moments like their promotion last year or lifting the FA Trophy at Wembley in 2018. The local community has been at the heart of the improvements, with the club giving the town a real presence. And with the continued support of the Premier League Stadium Fund, Brackley Town is set to continue thriving. Butters said the club is incredibly proud of its achievements and the role it plays in the community. The club's growth and success are a result of the hard work and dedication of the staff, volunteers, and fans. So, as Brackley Town looks to the future, it's clear that the club is on the right path, with a strong foundation and a commitment to developing the game in the area.
